Thelma Ruth Bayes Lester age 90 of Denver, Kentucky went on to be with the Lord on Sunday December 6, 2020 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center. Born June 27, 1930 at Swanp Branch, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Jack (Sam) Bayes and Edna Collins Bayes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Densil Lee Lester, her father, her mother and three brothers, Sherman, Carl, and Charles. She is survived by three nephews, Jess, Gregg, and Bryan, two nieces, Twila and Tammie, their families, and several cousins, and a host of friends and neighbors. Thelma was a devoted school teacher for thirty years with the Johnson County School System. She attended the Barnetts Creek United Baptist Church when she was able. Visitation will be held Thursday at the Preston Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Kenny Pelphrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lester Family Cemetery at Denver, Kentucky.
