On April 4, 2020 a band of Angels were dispatched from the throne room of heaven to the St. James Veterans Home to escort our beloved Homer Lee Price home to glory. Homer was born June 10, 1930 in River, KY to the late Harlan and Gustava Daniel Price. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by the mother of his children Helen Hawkins Price Campbell; two brothers: Bill Price and Bernard Price. Surviving his death is one son: Ricky (Sherry) Price; two daughters: Gail (Joe) Crum, Kathie (James) Owens; one sister: Roberta Price Butcher; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends. Homer was a member of the Northridge Free Will Baptist Church, a retired Hyster driver for Chrysler Motors and a long time Dayton, Ohio resident. Seconded only by his faith, Homer felt a great love for this country and its citizens. He served his Country proudly in the United States Army and was a proud veteran up until the moment of his passing. Although we can’t have a public celebration of life for this cherished man, through the outpouring of love we have received via phone call, text message, and email; we truly feel the presence of each of you during this service. In compliance with the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky and the executive orders placed by the Governor of Kentucky during the Covid-19 pandemic a private graveside service will be held at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville, KY with Phillip Ramey officiating. Interment shall immediately follow. In lieu of flower’s the family requests donations be made to the St James Veterans Home by contacting the Preston Funeral Home at 606-789-4212. We the family appreciate your understanding during this unusual time and your compliance with these orders.
