Bill Glen Allen, age 91 died Thursday July 22, he was born April 10, 1919 to the late Murphy & Josephine Bentey Allen.  He is survived by his wife Pauline Hayes Allen, 2 sons Sammy Allen of Wittensville, Glen Allen of Louisville, 2 daughters Terisa Daniels of Louisville, Toby Blanton of Fairborn, OH, 2 sisters Dlorothy Marshall of MI, Burle Shrum of GA.  Visitation is from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. on Sunday July 25 at the funeral home.  Funeral services 11 A.M. Monday July 26 at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with J K Caudill officiating.  Burial will follow in the John Allen Cemetery at Lancer.

Willie Ray Crabtree, age 78 of River died Thursday July 22, he was born on Nov. 25, 1931 to the late Earl & Mary Dowdy Crabtree.  Willie is survived by  2 sons Timothy Crabtree of River, Willie Thomas Crabtree of Nippa, 1 daughter Tracy Fitzpatrick of River, 4 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren, 1 sister Petey Wells of Rio Grande, OH.  Visitation 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. on Friday July 23 at the funeral home.  Funeral services 11 A.M. Saturday July 24 at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Southie Fannie Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at River.

Willard E. Bailey age 90 died Thursday July 22.  Willard was born March 14, 1920 to the late Estill & Molly Wright Bailey.  Willard was a member of The Father’s House of Prayer, he was also a retired auto mechanic with the Kentucky State Highway Department and he served with the United States Navy.  Willard is survived by his wife Hazel Williams Bailey and 1 daughter Patricia Meade of Flat Gap, 3 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren.  Visitation will be Thursday July 22 from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. and Friday July 23 from 12 P.M. to 9 P.M. at The Father’s House of Prayer at Flat Gap.  Funeral services will be held Saturday July 24 at 11 A.M. at The Father’s House of Prayer, with George Meade, Earl Wright, and Kenny Wright officiating.  Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Donarvan Creed Webb,  8 weeks old died Saturday July 17.  The son of Martin Webb and Rhonda Loray Sperars of Van Lear.  Donavun is also survived by his maternal grandparents Donnie Lee & Rebecca Spears of Prestonsburg, great grandmother Stella Snitzhler of Ridgefield, OH, 3 brothers Steven Reffitt, Gabrill Spears, and Adam Webb all of Van Lear.  Graveside survices were held 11 A.M.  Monday July 19 at Anderson Cemetery in Prestonsburg, with Don Neeley officiating.

Bonnie R. Spencer age 85 died Thursday July 15.   Bonnie was born on  December 31, 1924 to the late Byrd Oliver & Mahala Trimble Preston, and the widow of Elmer Spencer.  Bonnie is survived by 3 sons Dean Blair, Neil Blair, Jeff Blair, 1 daughter Jenny Franklin of Staffordsville, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  Visitation will be held on Saturday July 17  from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be at 11 A.M.  Sunday July 18 at the Preston Funeral Home, with Harold Conley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Preston Family Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Dora Fairchild Goble age 95, died Thursday July 8, she was born on August 2, 1914 to the late Enoch & Samantha Johnson Fairchild.  Dora is survived by 2 sons Clyde Horne, Jr. and Tom Horne both of Hager Hill, 1 daughter Iva Joy Ratliff of Ashville, OH, 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, and 4 great great great grandchildren.  Visitation is from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. on Friday and 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. on Saturday at the Rockhouse Freewill Baptist Church.  Services will be held 11 A.M. Sunday July, 11 at the Rockhouse Freewill Baptist Church, with Toby Johnson & Richard Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.

Clara Faye Fyffe, age 95 of Flat Gap died Wednesday July 7.  Clara was born June 12 1915 to the late John Edward & Lelia Williams Thomas.  Clara is survived by 8 daughters Marilyn Stambaugh of Sitka, Phyllis Bryant of Inez,  Betty McBride, Kathleen Hamilton and Gloria Fyffe all of OH, Deloris Lavender, Charlotte Kitchen and Carolyn Pelphrey all of FL, 23 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.  Visitation is from 2 P.M. to 9 P.M. of Friday at the funeral home.  Funeal services will be held at the Flat Gap Baptist Church on Saturday July 10 at 1 P.M., with Harold Salyers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fyffe Family Cemetery at Flat Gap.  Clara will lie in state at the church after 10 A.M. on Saturday until time of services.

William “Bill Joe ” Jarrell, age 67 of Thelma died Monday July 5.  William was born May 25, 1943 to the late William Jarrell. William is survived by his mother Mary Jo Preston Jarrell Mulligan.  He is the father of Ron Jarrell of Oil Springs, Don Jarrell of Paintsville.  William is also survived by 1 brother Joey Mulligan of Detroit, MI and 1 sister Patty of Detroit, MI, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.  Visitation will be held Friday July 9 at the Preston Funeral Home from 6 P.M. – 9 P.M.  Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. on Saturday July 10 at the funeral home, with Wesley Stedtefeld officiating.  Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville, KY

Delbert Meek, age 70 of River, KY  died Saturday July 3.  He was born on Nov. 17, 1934 to the late Elbert & Mary Daniels Meek.   Delbert is suvived by his wife Rose Skinner Meek, 1 son Delbert  Meek Jr. of Galloway, OH, 2 daughters Sandra Lee Meek of River, Patricia Ann Adams of Columbus, OH, 6 brothers Howard Meek and Dennis Meek both of Columbus, OH, Thomas Meek of Groveport, OH, Londis Meek of Thealka, Luther Meek of St. Helen Island, SC, Winfrey Meek of River, 1 sister Virgie Brown of River, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.  Delbert was a member of the Baker Branch Freewill Baptist Church, and  he was a repairman for the Westinghouse Electric Co.   Visitation will be held at the Baker Branch Freewill Baptist Church on Tuesday July 6 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Baker Branch Freewill Baptist Church, with Hollie Jay VanHoose and James Roger VanHoose officiating.  Burial will follow in the Luther Daniels Cemetery at River.

Curtis Stapleton Sr. age 80 of Tutor Key died Wednesday June 30.  Curtis was born on April 30, 1930 to the late Hansfort & Amanda Daniels Stapleton, and the widow of Hazel Christine Stapleton.  Curtis is survived by 4 sons Curtis Stapleton Jr. of Tutor Key, Frank Stapleton of FL, Calvin Stapleton of Tutor Key, Hansford Ray Stapleton of Thelma, 3 daughters Nina Hall of Paintsville, Letha VanHoose of Tutor Key, Amanda Reeseman Tutor Key, 2 brothers Jimmy Stapleton of Paintsvlle,  Ervin Stapleton of River, Esta Mae Price of Mobile, AL, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.  Visitstion will be at the Baker Branch Freewill Baptist Church on Thursday after 7 P.M. and all day on Friday.  Services will be held  11 A.M. Saturday July 3 at the church, with Hollie Jay VanHoose,  James Roger VanHoose and Venny VanHoose officiating.  Burial will follow in the Curtis Stapleton Cemetery at Tutor Key.
