Sally Perry age 81 died Friday March 24, 2017. She was born January 19, 1936 to the late Marion and Elizabeth Estep Stone. Sally was a custodian with the Clay County FL. School System and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Jack Perry, three brothers; Ronald Stone of Martin, KY, Jake Stone of Warsaw, IN, and Tommy Stone of Sitka, KY; nine grandchildren, and several great grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the Preston Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Bobby Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Cyrus Perry Cemetery at Oak Hill, KY.
Mabel Mae Collins, age 77 of Offutt, died Tuesday, March 21. Mabel was born September 24, 1939 in Bloomfield Indiana to the late Wilbur and Ozaline Newby Allis. Also preceding her death was her husband, William Robert Collins. Mabel was a housewife and a member of the Boons Camp Free Will Baptist Church. Mabel is survived by two sons: William Robert “Bobby” (Peggy) Collins JR and Willard (Lynn) Collins: three grandchildren; Robert Allan Collins, Logan Bryce Collins, and Amber Lynn Collins. Visitation is scheduled from 1 P.M. until 10 P.M. Thursday at the Boons Camp Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Friday at the church with Landrum Burchett and Edmond Hickman officiating. Burial will follow at the Collins Family Cemetery at Offutt, KY.
Stephen Douglas Tackett age 41, died Sunday March 19, 2017. He was born May 24, 1975 to Betty Mollett Tackett and the late William Tackett. Stephen served his country in the United States Army. Along with his mother Stephen is survived by one sister Tammy Nichole Tackett of River, one half brother William Jordon – Neal Tackett, one half sister Kodi Leigh Tackett, and a special nephew James Bryant Ramey. Visitation will be held Tuesday form 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. and on Wednesday form 4 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday at the Mollett Family Cemetery with Eugene Wells and Johnny Mollett officiating. In lieu of flowers make donation to the Jordan Light Foundation.
Douglas Dixon, age 84 of Paintsville, died March 19, 2017. He was born January 21, 1933 in Paintsville, KY to the late Andrew and Rissie Wheeler Dixon. Douglas is also preceded in death by his wife, Wilnah Hobbs Dixon. Douglas served his country in the United States Navy, was a retired self employed contractor, and a member of the Southside Free Will Baptist Church. Douglas is survived by one daughter; Andrea Dixon of Paintsville. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 21 from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the Preston Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, at the First Baptist Church in Paintsville, with Art Beasley officiating. Mr. Dixon will lie in state 2 hours prior to services. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to be made to the First Baptist Church.
Jo Ann VanHoose age 82, died Friday March 17, 2017. She was born August 4, 1934 to the late Vern and Myrtle Mae McFaddin Conely. Jo Ann was a self employed restaurant manager and she attended the Free Will Baptist Church. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Bobbie Gene VanHoose. She is survived by one son Bobby Keith (Beth) VanHoose of Paintsville, one brother Bill Conley of Thelma, KY, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation is Saturday form 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Blair officiating. Burial will follow in the VanHoose Family Cemetery at Nippa, KY.
Barbara Wright, age 82, of Paintsville died Tuesday morning March 14, 2017 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1935 in Louisa to the late Ealey and Delphia Jane Young Lemaster. Surviving her death is one son: Terry Thorn of Paintsville; one daughter: Kathy Thorn of West Van Lear; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends may visit the Preston Funeral Home from 11 A.M. Friday March 17, 2017 until time of graveside services at 1 P.M. located at the Wells Cemetery in Paintsville.
Loretta Mae Bailey age 66 died Wednesday March 8, 2017 . She was born September 1, 1950 to the late Herschell and Lorene Blevins Young. Loretta was a meter maid with the Suisun Police Dept. in California. She is survived by one son Steele Colby of Concord California, three brothers Raymond Young, Timothy Young, Hershell Young Jr. and one sister Kathy Kretzer. A memorial services will be held at a later date.
James Kenneth Perciful, age 78, of Flat Gap died Tuesday March 7, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Barboursville, KY on March 12, 1938 to the late William and Florence Hensley Perciful. On December 18, 1982 he married Mary Rose Stapleton Perciful who survives his death. Additionally surviving are four daughters: Tracey Lynn Lee of Carbondal, CO, Ashley Elizabeth Thompson of Tempe, Az, Jamie Lee James of Brooklyn Mi, Wendy Marie Ranger of Belleville, Mi; and one sister: Janet Dengel of Washington State. A memorial service will be held at a later date with inurnment at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville, KY.
Dennis Allen Preston age 59 died Wednesday March 1, 2017. He was born December 6, 1957 to Bobby J. Preston and the late Gladys Mae Conley Preston. Dennis was a stocker for K-Mart and a member of the Upper Room Church. Along with his mother he is also preceded in death by his wife Nancy Preston. He is survived by his fiancé Debbie Chandler, one son Dennis Robert Preston of Miamisburg, OH, one daughter Rachel Preston of Cincinnati, OH, one brother Garry W. Preston of Dayton, OH, one sister Patricia Ann Preston of Miamisburg, OH. and two grand children. Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m.to time of services at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel. Lois Moore Spence Davis, age 57 of Paintsville, died February 28, 2017. Lois was born December 24, 1959 in Louisa, KY to the late Jay Harm and Christine Fitch Moore. Lois is survived by 3 sons: Joseph Spence of Flat Gap, Garfield Spence of Paintsville, Randall Davis of Flat Gap; and 1 daughter, Melissa Horn of Ulysses, KY. Also surviving is 1 brother; Timothy Moore and 4 sisters; Frances Meade, Opal Meade, Linda McKinnon, and Edith Spradlin. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday March 2, 2017 from 6 P.M. until 10 P.M. at the Cannons Chapel Church with Funeral Services scheduled for 1 P.M. Friday March 3, 2017 with William Paul Castle officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery in Paintsville.
