Visitation will be held Friday from 4 p.m. to  9 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Eugene Wells and Claude Mollette officiating.  Burial will be in the Dennie Pigg Cemetery at Boons Camp, KY.

He was born on July 16, 1955 in Paintsville to the late Dallas and Georgene Blevins Salyer. On October 28, 1977 in Paintsville he married Colene Williams Salyer who survives his death. Additionally surviving are two sons: Stephen Salyer and Michael Salyer both of Paintsville; one daughter: Melissa Salyer Wireman of River; one brother: Duell Salyer of Meally; one sister: Vickie Blevins of Salyersville; and one grandson. Logan was born July 23, 1956 in Prestonsburg, KY to the late William Joseph & Sara Minta Blackburn Vaughn. Logan was a self employed plumber & carpenter. Logan is survived by 1 son: Logan Jefferson Vaughn Jr. of Dundee, MI., 1 sister: Ella Mae Smith of Prestonsburg, 4 grandchildren, and locally a special cousin Harry Wallen. Ida PriceIda Dodd Price, age 77 of Offutt, died Friday January 12, 2018.  She was born March 9, 1940 to the late Loyd Vernon Knott and Miriam Dodd Jenkins Knott.  Ida was a cashier with Wal-Mart.  Along with her parents, Ida is also preceded in death by her husband Henry Price.  She is survived by one son: Henry H. Price Jr. of Offutt, KY, four daughters Laurie Scott of Offutt, KY, Robin Clark of Westland, MI, Kimberly Myers of Florence, KY, Rebecca Kovack of Romulus, MI, fourteen grand children, and several great grand children.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boons Camp Free Will Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at the Boons Camp Free Will Baptist Church with Gordon Ward and Edmond Hickman officiating.  Burial will be in the Henry Price Cemetery at Offutt, KY at a later date.

Deborah Lynn Knasel, age 68 of Louisville, KY, died Thursday January 11, 2018. Deborah was born October 5, 1949 in Covington, KY to the late Bill & Gladys Sparr Carrico. Deborah was a jeweler for Stewart’s Pawn Shop in Louisville. In 1995 in Indiana, Deborah married Lawrence J. Knasel who precedes her in death. Deborah is survived by 2 brothers: Bill Carrico of Jefforsonville, IN. and Carlton Carrico of Greenville, IN., and 2 sisters: Melody Carrico of Jeffersonville, IN. and Alison Kent of New Albany, IN. Len Franklin (Frank) Hamilton, age 79 of Wittensville, died January 8, 2018. Frank was born December 19, 1938 in Paintsville, KY to the late Orville & Gladys Wells Hamilton. Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves, was a retired Educator for the Johnson County School System, and attended Southside Free Will Baptist Church. On June 16, 1962 in Paintsville, KY, Frank married Barbara Jean Horne who survives. Also surviving is 1 son: Ben Hamilton of Wittensville, 1 Daughter: Jeanne Reed of Flat Gap, 1 Brother: Doug Hamilton of Nippa, and 2 Grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Thelma E. Estep, age 85 of Flat Gap, died Saturday January 6, 2018. Thelma was born December 12, 1932 in Van Lear, KY to the late Esau & Goldie Spence Cisco. On February 28, 1953, in Jenkins, KY, Thelma married Bobby Estep who precedes her in death. Thelma was a former Housekeeper for the Heart of Highlands Motel and a member of the Flat Gap Baptist Church. Surviving are 5 sons: James Estep of Ironton, OH, Willis Estep of Hager Hill, Rocky Estep of Flat Gap, Anthony Estep of Flat Gap, and Michael Estep of Flat Gap; 2 brothers: John Cisco of Inez and Sherman Cisco of Martha; 5 sisters: Jean Stapleton of Flat Gap, Brenda Coats of Texas, Mary Sizemore of Flat Gap, Billie Sue Thacker of Tennessee, and Betty Louise Stapleton of Staffordsville; 9 Grandchildren, 4 Step Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren, Several Step Great Grandchildren, and Several Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday January, 9 at 11 A.M. in the Preston Funeral Chapel with Randy Patrick officiating. Angelito E. Gallosa, age 66 of Paintsville, died Thursday December 28, 2017. Angelito was born May 16, 1951 in Cebu, Philippines to the late Fasto and Beatrix Ellescas Gallosa. He was a retired Tax Examiner with the Internal Revenue Service, served in the Philippine Navy, and a member of the Catholic Church. On July 8, 1985 in Wise, Virginia, Angelito married Kawinter 5ren Kelly Gallosa who survives. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or services.

Daniel Keith Ward, 81, passed away unexpectedly 19 December 2017, at home in Waterford, Michigan. He was born February 4, 1936, at Flat Gap, Kentucky to Velma (Wheeler) Ward and Wiley Ward, both deceased. His paternal grandparents were Bish Ward and Martha (Branham) Ward. His maternal grandparents were Henderson Wheeler and Eliza (Phillips) Wheeler. He is survived by a sister, Phyllis Burton, Hawthorne, CA. He graduated from Flat Gap High School, Class of 1954, and attended Pikeville College. He served eight years in the United States Air Force with overseas assignments in Korea and Spain. He worked for and retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. Burial will be at the Camant “Old Fields” Cemetery, Flat Gap where his parents and Wheeler grandparents are buried.”

Scan_20171216 (2)Clarence Pack age 86, died Friday December 15, 2017.  He was born April 4, 1931 to the late Herbert and Jettie Marie Burchett Pack.  Clarence was a truck driver for Pepsi a member of the Little Friendship United Baptist Church and he proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He is survived by his wife Anna Branham Pack, three sons Rick Thompson of Webbville, KY, Randy Pack Palm Springs, CA, Keith Pack of Boons Camp, KY, two daughters Debbie Thompson Ward of Staffordsville, KY, Marti Thompson Hannah of Paintsville, KY, four sisters Mary Schwartz of FL, Sarah Delong of Van Lear, KY, Janet Sue Morris of FL, Edna Mae Pack of FL, ten grand children and eight great grand children.  Visitation will be held on Saturday December 16 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the Preston Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Sunday December 17 at the Little Friendship United Baptist Church, with Glen Arrowood, Glenn Penix, Arnold Pinson and Willis Staton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pack Family Cemetery at Williamsport, KY.
