Mae Elizabeth Arms Page age 88 died Wednesday May 16, 2012.  She was born December 3, 1922 to the late Elijah and Martha “Dolly” Collins Arms.  Mae was married to George Washington Page who precedes her in death.  He is survived by 4 sons Herbert Page of Oil Springs, Robert Page of Ashland, KY, Clarence Page of Clove, TX, Winston Page of Waverly, OH, 1 daughter Helen Sue Meek Walters of West Van Lear, KY, 4 brothers James Denver, CO, Billy Arms of East Point, KY, Elva Bob of Paintsville, Luther Martin of Tomahawk, KY, 2 sisters Josephine Arms of Tutor Key, KY, Betty Sue Salyers of East Point, KY, 15 grand children, 7 great grand children, 1 great great grand child.  Visitation is Friday May 18 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday from the Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with James Kelly Caudill officiating.  Burial will follow in the Arms Family Cemetery of East Point, KY.

Hattie Kestner age 73 died Wednesday May 16, 2012.  She was born Feburary 16, 1939 to the late Sherman and Gertrude Ramey Whitt.  Hattie is survived by 3 sons Charlie Kestner and Bruce Kestner both of Paintsville, Kennith Kestner of Tutor Key, 3 daughters Jennifer Lemaster and Glenda Golden both of Paintsville, Bonnie Jaynes of River, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Visitation is from 12 noon on Friday until services on Sunday at the Solid Rock Ind. Church.  Funeral services Sunday May 20 at 1 p.m. at the church with Steve Rose and Steve Hazlett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Estepp Family Cemetery at Joe’s Creek.

Charles Edward Evans age 57 died Saturday May 12, 2012.  He was born April 5, 1955 to the late Conrad and Clara Chaney Evans.  Along with his parents Charles is also preceded in death by his wife Kathy Evans.  Charles is survives by 1 son Raymond Evans of Paintsville, 1 daughter Clara Kitchen of Paintsville, 1 brother Foster Evans of Franklin, OH, 4 sisters Wanda Mullins of Magnolia, TX, Terry Bevins of Pikeville, KY, Betty Shupe of Milford, OH, and Bonnie Kendrick of Southshore, KY.  Visitation will be after 12 p.m. on Tuesday May 15, 2012.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday May 15 at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Lonnie Salyer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dixon Cemetery at Staffordsville, KY.

Skyler Faith Mollett the infant daughter Paul and Katrina Salyer Mollett of Boons Camp.  Died Monday April 20, 2012.  Along with her parents Sklyer is survived by 1 sister Preslea Mollett of Boons Camp, her paternal grand parents Gary and Alice Faye Mollett, maternal grand parents Mike and Jewell Salyer and her maternal great grand father Oscar Perkins.  Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Preston Funeral Home.  Grave side services will be held 11 a.m. Sunday May 6 at Salyer Cemetery in Salyersville, with Eric Adkins and Mike Jarrell officiating.

Virgil Eugene Daniels age 73 died Friday May 4, 2012.  He was born June 15, 1938 to the late Walker Bud and Carhern Grim Daniels.  Virgil was a maintenance worker for the Fouts Wood Products.  He is survived by his wife Sandra Lester Daniels, 1 son Douglas Eugene Daniels of Carey, OH, 2 daughters Sharon Kirk of Denver, Ky, Mary Beth Jarrell of Hazard, KY, 1 brother Willard Cecil Daniels of Columbus, OH, 5 grand children and 2 great grand children.  Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday May 6 at the Preston Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday May 7 from the Preston Funneral Home Chapel, with David Allen Baldwin and Gene May.  Burial will follow in the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville, KY.

Donald Scott age 93 of Cheyenne, WY formerly of Paintsville died Tuesday May 1, 2012.  He was born February 17, 1919 to the late Thomas and Catherine Doyle Scott.  Donald was a train dispatcher a member of the Calvery Baptist Church and he served his country in the United States Marine Corp.  Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Edna Mae Williams Scott.  Donald is survived by 1 son Robert L “Bob” Scott of Cheyenne, WY, 1 daughter Leigh Ann Scott of Lowell, MA, 1 brother Richard Scott of Underwood, IO, and 1 grand child Brian Donald Scott.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday May 7 at the Preston Funeral Home.   Grave side services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday May 8, William Cemetery at Flat Gap, KY.

Doris Preston age 80 died Monday April 30, 2012.  She was born November 17, 1931 to the late Edgar A. and Anna Nova Salyer Castle.  Doris was a waitress at Hudson Piller Drug Store and a member of the Concord United Baptist Church.  She was married to Rosco Preston who preceades her in death.  Doris is survived by 1 son Timothy Preston (Lidia) of Attica, OH, 3 daughters Janet (Mike) Smith of West Van Lear, Barbara (Ricky) Curtis of Williamsport, Alicia (Billy) Robinette of Wittensville, 5 brothers Jerry Castle of Belleveu, OH, James A. Castle of Reynoldsburg, OH, Gary Cletis Castle of Sandusky, OH, Roger Castle of Thealka, KY, Edgar (Eddie) Castle of Castalia, OH, 1 sister Elizabeth Darnell King of Fairborn, OH, 9 grand children and 7 great grand children.  Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday May 4 at the Preston Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday May 5 at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Preston Family Cemetery at Williamsport.  In lieu of flowers make donations to the Jordan Light Foundation.

Jimmy Ray McCarty age 58 died Friday April 27, 2012.  Jimmy was born December 17, 1953 to the late Manford and Joy Williams McCarty.  He was a concrete worker for Adams Construction.  Jimmy is survived by his wife Linda McCarty, 3 brothers Charles McCarty, James McCarty and Jeff McCarty all of Hager Hill, 2 sisters Joyce Craft of Marion, OH, Rosie Grubb of Columbus, OH.  Visitation is on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.  and on Monday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Marvin Adkins and Toby Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the McCarty Cemetery at Hager Hill.

 

William Douglas Arrowood age 53 died Monday April 23, 2012.  He was born August 6 1958 to the late William Frank and Imogene Wells Arrowood.  William is survived by 3 brothers Paul (Tracy) Arrowood of Tutor Key, David (Rhonda) Arrowood of River, Roger (Deloris) Arrowood of River, 5 sisters Carla Arms of Paintsville, Debbie (Phillip) Howard of Salyersville, Patricia (Wayne) Wallen of Circleville, OH, Karen (Randy) Daniels of Paintsville, Kaye (Roger) Joseph of Staffordsville, 17 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.  Grave side services 2 p.m. Wednesday at Arrowood Family Cemetery at River, KY, with  A J Johnson officiating.

Edna Fay “Patty ” Blanton age 69 died Thursday April 19, 2012.  She was born June 28, 1942 to the late Hebern and Mary Blair Scott.  Edna is survived by her husband Chester Blanton, 3 sons Tony Blanton and Casey Blanton both of Paintsville, Terry Blanton of Martin, 2 daughters Nadene Nelson of Dickson, TN, Debbie Blanton of North Manchester IN, 11 grand children and 4 great grand children.  Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday April 20 and from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Preston Funeral Home.  Funeral services are 1 p.m. Sunday April 22 at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Roger Hill officiating.  Burial will follow in the Manford Blanton Cemetery at Oil Springs, KY.
